Players Golf Club Round 35 was a thrilling event marked by impressive performances and memorable moments. The round saw 10 players playing to their handicap, showcasing the high level of competition and skill among the participants.
With three players over 40 points, Nigel took out the win with 43 points. Lui took second on a countback from Peter Musca with 42 points, both gents unlucky not to take out the win with great scoring.
Despite the high scores, the club captain had an unfortunate day, picking up the NAGA with a score of 27. It was a tough break for the captain, who usually performs much better.
The match plays were incredibly close, with both matches turning square. Lui emerged victorious over Andrew with a score of 4 and 2, while Dave Ovel clinched his win on the last putt. This was a significant improvement for Dave, who previously lost a hole after a four-putt despite making the green in regulation.
A special mention goes to Stafford, who celebrated his 77th birthday with a respectable 32 points. His performance was a testament to his enduring skill and passion for the game.
Pete Platter was on fire during the front nine, scoring an impressive 21 points. Unfortunately, a niggling injury forced him to withdraw on the last hole, cutting short what could have been a remarkable round.
Looking ahead, the club is eagerly anticipating the next round at Araluen. There is a lot of excitement as Geddes Senior aims to get his son and the club’s fearless leader and president onto the podium for the first time this year.
Hammo has also expressed an interest in watching his beloved the Dockers in the AFWL on Friday night. Contact him directly if you want to join him.
